For most entrepreneurs, moving to a new city is a scary transition that comes with a lot of things to consider. A move can be extremely beneficial, however, especially if you do your research ahead of time to make sure the new location will be profitable and sustainable. San Antonio is a great option for both veteran entrepreneurs and those who are just starting out, because it offers a ton of community resources and services, such as Sara Walker’s events. There are also a wide variety of living spaces available. Whether you’re single or have a family to think about, San Antonio has several advantages. Here are just a few reasons to consider this historic city when you’re ready for a move.

A wide array of living options

In many cities, finding a great apartment is difficult and time-consuming, and it can be frustrating to try and get everything you need while staying within a budget. San Antonio has about 1,700 apartments available, and you can use a search platform to narrow down your options and include only the things you want, from the number of bedrooms to whether there’s a pool available. You can also search according to price or look at a map to see which neighborhoods have the most open living spaces.

Settle in

Moving to a new apartment in an unfamiliar city can create some anxiety, but San Antonio is a great place to settle in and put down roots. The 300-year old city offers many family-friendly locations, such as Legoland and the San Antonio Zoological Gardens and Aquarium, as well as historic spots like the Alamo and Mission San Jose.

The size of the city also creates multiple networking opportunities, which is perfect for an entrepreneur who needs to get their business name out into the world. Once you’re settled in, make it a point to get out into the communities around you and talk to other business owners. Not only will they be helpful allies when it’s time to garner customers, they can also offer cross-promotional ideas to assist in spreading the word about your services or products.

Get support

Not only will your fellow entrepreneurs support you in your new city, you’ll also have financial resources like the Economic Development Incentive Fund. You can also get help with things like marketing and idea development with Launch SA. In fact, San Antonio recently made the Top 14 Entrepreneurial Cities For Small Business list because it’s so supportive of self-starters. Having support from your city and being able to easily access all the resources you need will be a huge advantage no matter what type of business you’re in.

Find a wide selection of resources

Speaking of resources, you’ll find quite a few to choose from in San Antonio. From a list of startup events to incubators and entrepreneurial programs, there are tons of resources and tools available to business owners in the area. Not only that, you can find educational opportunities and co-working environments that allow different startups to share an office or workspace, from conference rooms to kitchens. If you need legal advice or just want a lawyer to help you with paperwork related to an LLC or corporation, you can easily access services from a directory of attorneys who are well-versed in entrepreneurial needs. Or, if you’re looking for help in hosting an event, you can simply call Sara at 210.368.9271.

Starting a business comes with a lot of worries, and doing so in a new and unfamiliar city can be stressful. By doing some research ahead of the move, you can lay out a plan for a smooth transition that will give you some peace of mind and boost your confidence.
