What to do with the rest of 2020
As 2020 comes to an end, thank goodness, we are all scrambling to “plan” the rest of what is left of the year. If you haven’t been keeping up, a few new places have opened up that you need to check out, a few festivals are going to happen, and get to know the places where you can you get your Christmas lights fix in. The team at SA Social Calendar has gathered up a list with a few new places you should check out soon, where to go see Christmas lights, and a few outdoor festivals that are happening.
Restaurants with great patios
What’s more to love than an establishment that is a coffee & wine bar, an art gallery, a lounge and has an amazing outdoor area. Gather with your family or friends at Eleven-O-Two and enjoy everything they have to offer.
Elsewhere – Garden Bar & Kitchen
If youre looking for a fun outdoor place to socialize, then look no further than Elsewhere. They have cute little spots for great photo ops, scenic backdrop of the SA Riverwalk, and some great burgers that you can enjoy while you catch up with friends.
Great new restaurant that opened up on N. Main Ave! Colorful patio to enjoy your plant based food. You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy all their delicious meals! Their tres leches pancakes are calling our names!
Hops & Hounds
Grab a drink, some grub, friends and hangout in our outdoor dining area. Play a game of ping pong or grab the bags for some corn hole. Don’t forget to bring your furry best friend along for you social hour!
Tutti’s A Place for Foodies
Comfy 100-year-old Southtown bungalow converted to a neighborhood restaurant. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Vegan options included among upscale comfort food items. Live music Friday – Sunday!
SA Grilled Cheese Cheese Cheese at the Pop Up
Grilled Cheese Fest is cancelled, but the team behind The Pop-Up is bringing a little dose of cheese to you! Join them on November 14th at St. Paul Square for a cheesy fall day market. Grilled Cheese themed at The Pop-Up. They will have a few delicious grilled cheese vendors, grilled cheese themed items from vendors, plus a bar so you can hang out and enjoy the day!
Culiniaria Presents | Music Festival New Braunfels
A day of live music, guest bartenders serving up fantastic beverages, a silent auction and outdoor fun are all part of the line-up of our Music Festival. Join them for their second concert hosted at the Historic – Freiheit Country Store – in beautiful, New Braunfels, TX. Music Festival New Braunfels is organized by a group of individuals in the New Braunfels community in partnership with Culinaria – all to directly benefit musicians and crewmembers who haven’t been able to entertain or travel during COVID-19.
The Luck Reunion
Technically this one is in Austin, but what’s an hour drive when you get to enjoy live music for the sake of sanity. For the next few weeks they will be having live concerts at the Long Center. Tickets will be limited and sold in pre-marked, socially distanced squares on the lawn that each accommodate 4 people. Masks will be required.
AT&T Center | Illumi-Night A Magical Drive-Thru Experience
The AT&T Center will transform into a winter wonderland for its first-ever holiday lights drive-thru event. The illumi-Night: A Magical Drive-Thru Experience will deck out the arena’s parking lot with 4 million twinkling lights and will include holiday photo opportunities with Santa, treats, 3-D displays and more in a mile-long drive-thru.
Bring your friends and family and enjoy one of the best holiday lights exhibits in the state! You’ll take a drive through over a mile of winding country roads while taking in the beautiful lights, animated Christmas displays, and enjoying homemade hot cocoa, kettle corn, and snacks.
Light the Way SA | Incarnate Word
Celebrate the 34th annual Light the Way Holiday Drive presented by H-E-B from the comfort of your own sleigh (vehicle). Come ready for a night under the lights at the beautiful University of the Incarnate Word campus. The experience will include a tour of the UIW campus, performances by UIW students, event activations along the route and a chance to see our special guests Red the Cardinal and Santa Claus! Light the Way Holiday Drive will be offered November 20 – 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
San Antonio Zoo Lights
When the animals tuck in for the evening, San Antonio Zoo transforms into a wild, winter wonderland filled with a jaw-dropping array of twinkling lights. Bigger and brighter than before, Whataburger Zoo Lights is a must-see for families that is sure to put everyone in the holiday spirit! Guests can see life-sized animals from the savanna, including a 15-foot tall illuminated giraffe in Starry Safari while sipping hot cocoa; guests can stroll under a unique display of lights, roast s’mores, decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus, and visit Santa.
