Here are some events that the team at SA Social Calendar has picked out for you that will be available to live stream this month of May. This list will continue to be updated as more events become announced.

May 6:

 Third Street Music School Settlement will hold a virtual gala at 6:30 p.m. EST with a performance by Jason Mraz. Mraz, Cyndi Lauper, composer/violinist Jessie Montgomery, designer Zac Posen and YouTube global head of music Lyor Cohen will be honored. Third Street students will also perform.

Wiz Khalifa will host a VR performance of new music and more on Oculus Venues at 7:00 p.m. ET from his home in Los Angeles. Produced by Supersphere, the performance will be broadcast live on Oculus Venues. Fans can pre-register here.

May 7:

Houseparty will host a free prom with D-Nice and Zack Bia at 8 p.m. EST. See more info here.

May 8: 

Rolling Stone continues its “In My Room” series on Instagram with an at-home, stripped-down performance by the rock star Sting. The series has featured Joan Jett, Brian Wilson, Lucinda Williams and Jim James. Past streams are archived on Rolling Stone’s website. Starting at 3 p.m. EST on The Rolling Stone Instagram page.

Starting Friday evening, and running for 24 hours, more than 200 celebrities and leaders — including Oprah, Julia Roberts, Quincy Jones, Yo-Yo Ma, Naomi Campbell, Alanis Morissette and President George W. Bush — will gather virtually for “The Call to Unite,” an event to raise money for Covid-19 relief efforts. Participants will offer messages in their own ways, whether through a performance, story or prayer. Friday at 8 p.m. EST through Saturday at 8 p.m. EST. You can stream on The Call to Unite’s website and its FacebookInstagramYouTube and Twitter pages, as well as SiriusXM Stars channel 109.

“Covid Is No Joke” virtual comedy benefit might just do the trick. Will Ferrell, Chelsea Handler, Patton Oswalt, Bryan Cranston, Kerry Washington, Elizabeth Banks, Jack Black and Tenacious D, Mindy Kaling and many others will put on sketches, perform stand-up sets and more, as well as offer personal messages, to raise money for the Americares Covid-19 efforts. Sia will close the show, which is hosted by Tony Goldwyn. The first $100,000 in donations received during the event will be matched by an anonymous donor. Starting at 8 p.m. EST on Americares YouTube channel and the “Covid Is No Joke” website.

Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and Talinda Bennington announced 320 Festival, a one-of-a-kind festival aimed at changing the way we talk about mental health. The festival that was set to take place across the entire L.A. LIVE complex in May has been canceled in its current form. Instead, the festival will be going online. On May 8- 10, fans can tune in for free on Facebook Live, YouTube Live, and the KNEKT.TV Network on Roku and Apple TV to join the conversation through educational sessions, musical performances, workshops and more.

May 9:

 Global Dance Festival is an annual event held in Denver. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Global has transitioned online to bring high energy festival sets straight to your home, with 100% of donations going to Direct Relief. Catch it here on May 9 and 10 starting at 11 a.m. PST.

The full Sarah Brightman: In Concert at the Royal Albert Hall performance will be streamed via YouTube at 3:00 p.m. EST. The 1997 performance, which has never been commercially available, features Andrea Bocelli and Andrew Lloyd Webber and will be streamed to raise funds for COVID-19 relief charities. The performance will be available for 72 hours here.

Fearless Records will be hosting #FearlessAtHome, an interactive livestream featuring acoustic performances by The Pretty Reckless, Ice Nine Kills, Grayscale and more. There will also be appearances by Underoath, All That Remains, Eat Your Heart Out, and others. The event begins at 3:00 p.m. EST; watch it at FearlessAtHome.com. All proceeds will benefit Crew Nation.

Digital video company Underknown is hosting LIVEMEDAID, a live-streamed benefit show featuring renowned scientific leaders. It will shine a spotlight on the global crisis caused by COVID-19, and celebrate hope, resilience and the human spirit. Jane Goodall, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Ed Robertson (Barenaked Ladies), Earth, Wind and Fire, Bombino, Patrick Watson, Jesse Cook, Alex Cuba, Paul Anthony and more will take part. The event will take place between 6 p.m. EST – 11 p.m. EST, and will stream live on LIVEMEDAID social channels including FacebookYouTubeTwitter and on www.livemedaid.com.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood From the Opry

Country music royalty Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood will perform live from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. The venue will of course be empty, but it still might be nice to see stars outside their living rooms. Tune in at 7:30 p.m. for the Opry’s online preshow, Circle Sessions, featuring Scotty McCreery from his home. Brooks and Yearwood will follow from the Opry, with the host Bobby Bones at 8 p.m. EST on the Grand Ole Opry Facebook pageGarth Brooks’s Facebook page and Trisha Yearwood’s Facebook page. You can also watch the show live on Circle television, Dish Network and Sling TV.

May 10:

Virtual Summit for Gens X, Y and Z on Rebuilding After Covid-19

On Sunday, the 92nd Street Y will host its first-ever virtual summit about global recovery and social transformation in the aftermath of Covid-19 — focused on generations X, Y and Z. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey, the model and activist Emily Ratajkowski, and the comedian and actor Ramy Youssef will participate, as well as speakers from politics, journalism and entertainment. Some topics include “Leading in the Times of Crisis,” “Coping Beyond Covid: Empowering Ideas to Manage Anxiety and Stress” and “Social Media as a Tool for Good.” Sunday at 11 a.m. EST on 92Y Online Register here.

May 11:

 Tina Fey will be hosting a virtual benefit called Rise Up New York! to support New Yorkers impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The telethon is hosted by the poverty-fighting organization Robin Hood in conjunction with iHeartMedia. Joining Fey will be a mix of politicians (NYC mayor Bill De Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo) alongside artists Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi and Sting, who will perform. The benefit will take place from 7- 8:00 pm EST and air nationally on CNBC and locally for New Yorkers on all local broadcast stations as well as New York Spectrum 1 and News 12. The event will also be streaming on all local iHeartMedia and Entercom radio stations as well as SiriusXM nationally.

May 15: 

Miley Cyrus is scheduled to perform her song “The Climb” during Facebook and Instagram’s Celebrate the Class of 2020 event in honor of graduating seniors who have had their commencement ceremonies canceled because of the pandemic. The ceremony will also feature words of wisdom from Lil Nas X, Awkwafina and others, as well as a commencement speech by Oprah Winfrey. It begins at 2:00 p.m. EST and can be streamed on Facebook.

Guitar hero Tommy Emmanuel, chart-topping former The Voice Australia winner Karise Eden, and veteran blues-rockers The Black Sorrows join the lineup for Bandwidth, a virtual concert streamed live on Facebook  at 7pm AEST (5am ET). An encore screening is set for May 16, 2020 at 10pm ET.

May 17:

Lady Gaga, BTS and Barack Obama are set to give a commencement speech during YouTube’s “Dear Class of 2020” virtual commencement. The event will also feature appearances by Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, and more.  The schedule will be announced May 17; the event can be streamed on YouTube.
