Why Nonprofits still need our help in the time of COVID-19.

This new normal of staying home for the health of others has been harder than expected. What we thought would be a few weeks of sheltering at home and letting this virus take its course has dragged on longer than imagined. Many organizations are used to hosting multiple fundraising events during the course of the year, but with the pandemic still running rampant in our community, fundraising events are mostly non-existent now. This has caused many organizations to put a pause to or reimagine how to host their fundraising events. Luckily, there are many creative geniuses out there that have reimagined how to host their events, from in-person to virtual. Thank goodness for technology! You may be wondering, “How will this work? Will my donation really make a difference this year? It doesn’t sound as fun as it would be in person.” Trust us, we know! We also love and enjoy getting to go to some of these events hosted by the lovely nonprofits around town. Let us tell you why we still need to continue donating to these wonderful organizations and how you can encourage your friends and workplace to do so as well.

Small charitable donations have a huge impact.

When you give a donation, you will be able to set an example for the people around you. You will work as an inspiration for the people who might not have been donating. It means that charities will receive more donations.

Many charities or non-profits are created to support vulnerable groups.

They can be a group of minorities, a religion cause, or helping vulnerable animals or human. This will improve society diversity and inclusion.

Sustaining your support at your usual levels or increasing it will help these organizations get through the crisis and continue their important work.

Additionally, donors can support a variety of organizations that exist to serve the nonprofit community with resources, such as providing marketing or fundraising support, leadership training and more. Nonprofits need their committed supporters in these times.

Encourage workplace giving campaigns.

Workplace giving campaigns are employer-sponsored programs that offer employees the opportunity to make tax-deductible donations to pre-vetted charities. Everything can be done online, which is pretty convenient. By launching a workplace giving program, you will have empowered your workforce to make a difference, from the comfort and safety of their own homes or remote workspaces.

Remember, now more than ever, these great organizations need your donations and sponsorships.
