Road Trip Essentials

Since the idea of taking a flight is up in the air (pardon the pun), most families have switched their travel plans over to road tripping. We’ve all been on a road trip before, and we know that there are both good and bad ways to approach them. The team at SA Social had put together a list of 10 road trip essentials to help you and your loved ones enjoy the open road and arrive to your final destination still liking one another!

  1. Headphones

Need some alone time in a car full of people? Headphones. Sick of hearing Karen and Jerry fight over who gets shot gun next? Headphones. Any will do, but our favorite are the Beats Wireless. Get them in two days from Amazon!

  1. Wet wipes

These are always handy in the car! Whether it be a spilled coffee, Cheeto fingers, or you just want to wipe off your hands after pumping gas, wet wipes will do the trick!

  1. Snacks

Packing a few snacks for the drive will cut back on stops and more importantly, keep the passengers from becoming hangry. Sandwiches, chips, fruits and veggies that won’t spoil (think apples, oranges, bell pepper slices), pretzels, and nuts are a few car-friendly options!

  1. Cooler

A small cooler for drinks and food will always come in handy. Here is our top pick!

  1. Neck pillow and blanket

For the nappers in the car. Keep their necks from collapsing and their toes from freezing with this pillow and blanket!

  1. iPad

This will give you endless entertainment – games, social media, music…the list goes on and on.

  1.  Books (if you don’t get car sick!)

For the ones who can read in the car without needing to pull over on the side of the road…here’s a list of 2020’s best books so far.

  1. Car tool kit

You always hope you won’t run into any issues along the way, but just in case your car decides to set you back a few hours, this kit will help speed things up!

  1. Car phone charger

Nothing is worse than when your phone dies on the open road. If you’re taking a car that doesn’t have one of those brilliant middle console invisible chargers, make sure that doesn’t happen and pack one of these!

  1. Road trip playlist

When you have more than one person in the car, agreeing on a playlist can be, well, impossible. Here is a curated playlist that the SA Social team feels everyone can agree on.
